Happy New Year!
Full of promise and wonderful possibilities…
The New Year presents itself
as a blanket of fresh, fallen snow…
crisp and new
ready to take shape…
Like most of us
I contemplate a year of change
with wide-eyed wonderment.
Maintaining success
in any aspect of your life
requires more than stars in your eyes…
How about perseverance
ambition
hard work
and the most challenging of all~
time management.
“Rome wasn’t built in a day.”
“I rest, therefore I rust.”
“Even the best writer had to erase.”
Keeping our attention on the prize
however,
we tend to lose sight of life’s balance~
and therein lies the catch.
Viewpoints on life are either
glass half-full or half-empty
In the immortal words
of Winnie the Pooh’s friend, Eeyore:
“We can’t all,
and some of us don’t.
That’s all there is to it.”
Uncertain of what the future holds…
I am comforted by what I DO know:
“Not to go forward is to go backward.”
Learning to finally fly on my own is exhilarating…
standing my ground
despite rejection…
is truly liberating,
…and discovering that I may grow up
without growing “old”
only reinforces the fact that
everything old IS new again.
Seize the moment!
Grab every opportunity
afforded to you..
there will always be signs
to guide you.
I suppose taking life a little less seriously
is on the top of my “to do” list for the New Year…
and reminding the “superwoman” inside
who thinks she can do it all…
to present herself less often.
To the “big kid” inside of me…
there is no reason to hide anymore.
This time around “I” will lead the way~
throw caution to the wind
…and put a smile in my heart whenever possible.
Who knows what the future holds?
Happy New Year!

Oh Lisa, this was a fantastic post!!! What uplifting, hopeful words…and those images are phenomenal…the tippy-toed kiddos made me giggle, and I love the dandelion/umbrellas.
Everything you say here is what I will take to heart in the New Year!!
Blessings to you…good health, much joy and laughter, and authentic success..these are my wishes to you in 2012!
All the very best,
xoxoxo,
- Irina
What a hopeful post! It is my wish for you to move foward and not look back except to reflect on lessons learned and beautiful memories! It is most difficult for unselfish people to put themselves first and not worry about what others think. Focus on the positive! Your creative abilities and talent are endless as you prove that time and time again..If you believe, you will achieve! xoxo
BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know that in order to show my enthusiasm on email, that I make full use of the FONT enlargements! Can’t do that here, but if I COULD…
I WOULD BE USING THE BIGGEST FONT AVAILABLE to tell you how beautifully crafted your precious THOUGHTS and sentiments were made here my dear dear friend.
I was so tired last night that I was unable to come, but I see my dear Irina has come and I suspect more people will come to read these most ENCOURAGING WORDS. I LOVE the one about the glass half empty half full…ain’t that the truth? Why worry. Why argue. JUST DO and leave the others behind who can’t make up their minds. The way you wove in your thoughts is just what is necessary dearest. I would venture to say that you just wrote a poem.
BACK LATER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anita
Dear Lisa,
Thank you for this encouraging post. The parts that spoke most to me personally were about growing up without growing old, managing time well and working hard to achieve what the kid inside of me has been busting to do ever since I was a kid on the outside. I believe.
A wonderful new year to you, my friend.
Ruben
Good afternoon precious friend,

LISA! Ooooh, I can see you scurrying to the MEETING today! YOU ARE IN MY HEART! Thank you for your kind visit and comment. Those photos bring back so many memories my dear. Cheers, tears, hopes and dreams. What a wonderful world. LOVE YOU! Anita
Happy New Year Lisa!! What wonderful words of advice………….I particularly like rule #248!!! The start of another years brings with it new promise……..what can we improve on? What can we let go of…………what can we learn…………and yes, there are always going to be tough issues and even heartache for many of us. I think we should all heed the advice of taking life a little less seriously, every day is a gift and we have so much to be thankful for if we will just slow down and breathe it in!! Stress ain’t gonna do any body any good anyway…….I know I’m certainly pondering my new year’s resolutions, but mostly just am forever grateful for all that I have, my family and children who I have to trust will stay safe out of my nest, and of course my wonderful friendship network including you, dearest! Let us all count down our blessings as we usher in the New Year! hugs and love, devon

Good morning dear dear friend!
It sure is a wonderful feeling to open up my comments page, and to see YOU. It is remarkable how you can grow to have such a close attachment to someone and when they come to visit your blog, it makes magic. Such is the feeling when you come to visit me. If not for you, I would not have an Etsy shop or a reason to make my art, make it better every time, and then start thinking of OTHER possibilities. “THANK YOU” is not enough. I am so excited about what this new year will bring us both and even more thrilled to discover what is possible for the two of us!
I will speak to you today? AWESOME! Anita
Just came by for another visit. I really needed Anita’s post and yours. Because of the nature of my work and what I study and teach, the world can look like a discouraging place at times, with people in leadership who are terrible role models, and I can drawn to sarcasm. “The book is called Opportunity, and it’s first chapter is New Year’s Day.” Pretty cool.
Ruben
Such a great post Lisa….I l.o.v.e.d. it! Hoping your New Year is filled with much love, peace and joy!
Dear Lisa,
What a motivational and inspiring post! Looking forward to reading more of your words and shopping more of your beautiful creations this year!
Wishing you health and happiness.
Your Friend,
Deborah
Dear Lisa
Just came this morning for a shot of inspiration before the day begins. You might check my blog Rattus Scribus (the little quote on the side bar), but also my new poem on Heavenly Minded & Earthly Good.
Three cheers, and hoot and a rrrrr.
Ruben
Thanks Lisa for you kind comments on my shape poem on Heavenly Minded & Earthly Good. About the sayings book, your suggestions have inspired me to be much more intentional in creating more “sayings” so I can enough to put in conversation book form. I hope and believe that 2012 will be a break out year for me as far as creative/literary writing goes. My goal is to put together three different little books. A small book of poetry, another of sayings, and another of short fiction or flash fiction.
I cannot thank you enough for your encouragement.
Your friend
Ruben
Oh, you welcome to use some of my quotes and put them on your tags, etc., like:
“It’s been my experience that people who think they know you, unfortunately treat you that way.” Ruben Rivera
Or
“Without tea I might get to sleep, but I would not dream.” Ruben Rivera
ETC.
Hi Lisa
I am so glad you enjoyed the clip of Andy Andrews on the Butterfly Effect. Every once in a while, there’s something you wish everyone could see or read. This is one of them.
All the best
Ruben
Hello Lisa!
Thanks so much for coming by, and yes, how fun would that be if we all lived within (at least) driving distance!!!!
You feed your birdies too?? I love to give out nuts and fruit to those squirrels as well…:))
Sweet Anita was so kind to include one of your gorgeous tags with the Valentine’s cards I ordered. It has the seashell with a pearl, and the “pearl” quote..I love that one! It’s especially significant, because my mother’s name meant pearl. So THANK YOU!!! I will teasure it….
It is exciting, all of this new creative energy in the New Year! Wishing you much success and FUN! Can’t wait to see what fabulous projects you and Anita come up with…
And Ruben too!!
Hugs to you, dear Lisa..
xoxo,
